The Embassy of the Commonwealth of Dominica congratulates Thea Lafond-Gadson on winning Dominica’s first Olympic Gold medal in the Women’s Triple Jump at the Paris Olympics 2024 – a remarkable achievement for Thea and for Dominica!!
Thea’s outstanding performance with a jump of 15.01m, has made Dominica very proud; we all feel a great sense of national pride and joy on such a great achievement – Dominica is being recognised by the world.

Government of Dominica, led by Prime Minister Skerrit is well positioned to make Dominica the latest and most excited tourist destination in the eastern Caribbean. With the government’s Health and Housing policies well in their implementation stage, one of the current focuses of the government is on tourism. Regional observers mentioned it as “…... the most robust hotel revolution in the Caribbean”, given the fact that more than 1,000 rooms from eight international luxury hotel brands will be opened to high-spending visitors on the island soon.
